Presidential Shit

Here's a message to all ya'll from the man himself, Black Bobby:

Waddup, fam?

I want to start by thanking everyone who has supported me, my music and SQUARE BIZ. We’ve been working hard to build an Indie movement in Hip-Hop based off the work we’re doing in MIA. Its been a fast 10/11 months for sure.

Just myself, I’ve dropped 2 mixtapes and am about to drop an album. We’ve done a ton of shows all over Miami, including dope charity shows for Haiti and Chile. I’ve booked paid shows. I’ve opened for some of the top acts in Miami and Hip-Hop legends like AZ, Cormega and N.O.R.E. I’ve been out to talk to kids from Miami a few times. I did Art Basel. I performed with G Love. And, like I’ve said before- we’re over 33,000 downloads of my music.

I’m trying to build a movement to preserve Hip-Hop and bring freedom/independence to our generation through my music and my background. Movements are not built overnight. And, soon we’re going to take our movement on the road. First, I’m going to start with monthly shows in Miami and DC. I’m already doing my monthly show here. I have a band in DC that is going to help me get the party cranking up there. My big cousin Ron Sutton, Jr. is an AMAZING Alto Sax player and is part of the band. I’ve been linking with a TON of DC artists and residents through Twitter and Facebook. Its going to be a PARTY when I get to the good DMV.

Presidential Shit is more like an album than a mixtape. There are NO COVERS on my album. I was going to do a mix of covers and original material. But, I was inspired to change direction based on comments from friends, fans, etc and my own feeling that its time for me to show you how Black Bobby albums will sound. People always tell me that my music is “better than the radio.” That’s cool. I’m glad you appreciate the work and substance I put into my songs. So, now I want to show you what my contribution to the genre will be if I had access to the best producers like the big boys have.

For my album I leased beats from Best Kept Secret- a production team in DC that is most famous for the Pretty Girls beat they did for Wale. I have several Oddisee beats that I got for free from his amazing, free beat tapes. And I rounded off my production with two beats from a new producer here in Miami- Soulviet. Here is the tracklist:

1. Goyard Intro (prod. Oddisee)

2. I Go Hard (Kenner League) (prod. Oddisee)

3. NBA Jack Move (Three Kings) (prod. Oddisee)

4. Don Cornelius Flow (prod. Oddisee)

5. What They Want? (prod. Soulviet)

6. Stunt Hard (prod. Best Kept Secret)

7. In The Bag (prod. Best Kept Secret)

8. Nothing Changed (prod. Oddisee)

9. Coming Soon (LeBron’s Ring) (prod. Best Kept Secret)

10. Throw Ur Drink Up (prod. Oddisee)

11. Viva Biz (prod. Oddisee)

12. Presidential Shit (prod. Soulviet) (Bonus)

The concept is that I believe my rhymes are on presidential level. So, I got it in the bag (in terms of my campaign for President). But, the bag is mad expensive and I can’t afford it. I can’t be president until I get the bag. Dig? Its like an analogy for the industry.
